That this House congratulates Cupar Old and St Michael of Tarvit Parish Church on its 600th anniversary; notes that the first church in Cupar was erected on the site of the present Old Parish Church in 1415, before its congregation came together with St Michael of Tarvit in 1618; further notes that the Church celebrated its achievement in a service on 28 June 2015 attended by members of the congregation and local community, as well as the Moderator of the General Assembly, the Very Rev Dr Angus Morrison who brought greetings from the Assembly and did the Benediction, and the Right Rev Albert Bogle, a past Moderator of the General Assembly, who preached the sermon; is pleased to hear that celebrations were well received by guests; praises the Church's commitment to the community and wider world and, in particular, the ongoing support it provides to the Peruvian boys home Casa Girasoles; and wishes the church well in the next 600 years of its history.
