Endometriosis
EDM number 111 in 2004-05, proposed by Andrew Lansley on 23/11/2004.
That this House recognises that endometriosis is a gynaecological condition which can cause infertility, extreme and constant pain and depression; further recognises that endometriosis is a relatively unknown condition despite the fact that up to two million women in the UK are sufferers; congratulates the work of the All Party Group on endometriosis in helping to highlight the condition; further recognises that the cause of endometriosis is, as yet, unknown; notes that there is no cure for the condition; further notes, with concern, that the Government has presided over a decrease in funding for research into endometriosis, from ú1.8 million per year in 1998-99 to ú1.2 million in 2001-02; and calls on the Government to do more to help those who suffer from the condition.
