That this House congratulates the Hyndland After School Club in Glasgow, affectionately known as the Afty, on celebrating its 25th anniversary; understands that the club was established in 1992, initially offering 24 after school places for children at Hyndland Primary School, and has grown dramatically ever since; recognises that the club now has 106 registered places at Hyndland Primary School as well as running successful clubs at Thornwood Primary School and Notre Dame Primary School; commends the Afty on providing a range of services, including an after school club, breakfast club, holiday club and 12-to-3 club and offering a safe and stimulating environment for children to enjoy a range of activities, including arts and crafts, baking, music, drama, sports, toys and games, drawing and painting, outdoor play and much more; appreciates that the Afty opens up to all schools during the holidays and takes children on trips to country parks, visitor centres, beaches, animal parks, museums, art galleries and more; notes that the Afty became a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee and a registered charity in November 2001; welcomes the recent award of a Gold Star for excellence to the Afty in the Scottish Out of School Network's Achieving Quality Scotland scheme; thanks everyone involved with the club for their hard work and wishes them every success for the future; and is sure that the Atfy will enjoy another busy 25 years and more beyond.
