Primary Prevention Of Breast Cancer
EDM number 416 in 2017-19, proposed by Jim Shannon on 17/10/2017.
Categorised under the topics of Diseases and Health education and preventive medicine.
That this House notes the rising age-standardised incidence rate of breast cancer in women, which has risen by 24 per cent in the UK between 1993 and 1995 and 2012 and 2014 and continues to rise annually; further notes the fact that around one in four cases of breast cancer is preventable; recognises the need for greater commitment to primary prevention to complement improved treatments; and calls on the Government to develop a cross-departmental strategy on the primary prevention of cancer.
