That this House congratulates the parish community of St Mary's RC Church, Leslie on the occasion of its 50th anniversary; notes that it is continuing a tradition of Christian worship by congregations of various denominations who have used the building since 1879; records its admiration for all those who rallied round to ensure that the Church was fully restored after it was almost destroyed in an arson attack in 2004; commends the spirit of respect and co­operation that has grown up between St Mary's and other churches in the area; and is pleased to recognise the generous support given to St Mary's RC Church by its next door neighbours, Masonic Lodge Rothes 532, in regularly making its facilities freely available to the St Mary's congregation, in particular following the 2004 fire and as a venue for the recent 50th anniversary celebration.
