Leah Sharibu's Kidnapping By Boko Haram

EDM number 1246 in 2017-19, proposed by Jim Shannon on 08/05/2018.
Categorised under the topics of Africa, Children and families, Crime, Religion and faith communities and Terrorism.

That this House notes that the al-Barnawi faction of Boko Haram has returned 104 of the 110 girls they had abducted on 19 February 2018 from the Government Girls Science and Technical College in Dapchi, Yobe State and wishes these young ladies every success in rebuilding the life that they were torn from; further notes that there are some who have not been returned, including Lea Sharibu, who has reportedly continued to be held due to her refusal to renounce her faith; and calls on the Government to use all political and diplomatic measures to call for the immediate release of this young girl whose only crime is to love Jesus and refuse to renounce Him.
