Glasgow Soup Crowd-Funding Initiative

EDM number 644 in 2016-17, proposed by Natalie McGarry on 02/11/2016.
Categorised under the topics of Charities, Community care and Voluntary organisations.

That this House recognises the great efforts being made by the Glasgow Soup crowd-funding initiative which aims to improve the East End of Glasgow; notes that the first Glasgow Soup event will take place at the Calton Heritage and Learning Centre on 17 November 2016; further notes that members of the public are being asked to donate £5 or more at the event, enjoy a bowl of soup, hear ideas to improve their communities from local people and then vote for their favourite, with the community project with the most votes winning the money collected on the door to get their project up and running; and commends and congratulates Glasgow Soup initiative and all of its local community projects for its efforts to improve the communities of Glasgow's East End.
