EDM number 623 in 2016-17, proposed by Stephen Gethins on 31/10/2016.

That this House congratulates the Marshall's Office of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Province of Poland, along with the General Elzbieta Zawacka Foundation and the Fife Migrants Forum on their production of the play, The Silent Unseen, in St. Andrews' Byre Theatre on 8 October 2016; notes that the original The Silent Unseen, or Cichociemni Polish, were an elite paratrooper unit of the Polish Army who trained with the support of British Special Operations Executive in UK bases including those in Auchtertool and Largo House in Upper Largo in Fife; further notes the play tells the story of General Elzbieta Zawacka who, as well as being the only female Silent Unseen, was a political prisoner, academic, teacher, participant in the solidarity movement and social activist; commends all those involved in the production of the play which provides a reminder of the deep and time-honoured links that Fife and Scotland enjoy with Poland; and encourages the organisers, especially those in the Fife Migrants Forum, to continue to promote that shared heritage.
