That this House congratulates the West of Scotland Regional Equality Council (WSREC), based in the Woodside area of Glasgow, on its 45th anniversary; recognises that the WSREC was established as the Glasgow Community Relations Council in 1971 but later became the Regional Equality Council and is now one of the largest and most well-established equality councils in Scotland; commends its tireless commitment to eliminating all forms of discrimination, prejudice and intolerance based on race, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation and disability; further commends its valuable public advice and information services, its many on-going community projects to promote equality and its training, capacity development, outreach and engagement services; shares the WSREC's vision for an inclusive and discrimination-free society; and wishes all the staff and volunteers every success in promoting community cohesion, equal opportunities and mainstreaming across the West of Scotland.
