That this House congratulates Bearsden Choir and its conductor, Andrew Nunn, on its innovative project in bringing together over 250 pupils from 10 schools from across Greater Glasgow, including St Andrew's RC, Carntyne, Hyndland Secondary School, Notre Dame High School, Kelvinside Academy, Lourdes Secondary School, Hutchesons' Grammar School, Boclair Academy, Bearsden Academy, Gryffe High School and the RCS Junior Conservatoire Senior Choir, to perform the Nelson Mass by Haydn in the Glasgow City Halls, accompanied by the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland orchestra alongside 130 singers from the Bearsden Choir on 30 October 2016; notes that the ethos behind the project is education and bringing choral music to a younger generation, creating opportunities, raising aspirations and leaving a lifelong impression on the young people involved; commends those involved in bringing the project together, including the £10,000 raised through private sponsorship, grant applications and Bearsden Choir's own funds, which will also ensure that every child involved in the project will receive two free tickets for their family members to attend the performance to further remove barriers and allow complete open access; applauds the drive and determination of all involved; and wishes the project every success.
