Proof Of Age Standards Scheme (PASS)
EDM number 541 in 2016-17, proposed by Martyn Day on 13/10/2016.
Categorised under the topic of Age discrimination.
That this House supports CitizenCard and other cards bearing the Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) hologram; recognises the importance of such cards in enabling young adults to access age-restricted premises and goods across the UK; notes that UK retailers, pubs, clubs and other establishments are advised by the police, trading standards and the Home Office to accept proof-of-age cards that bear the PASS hologram; further notes with concern that despite this advice, some establishments such as the Glasgow O2 Academy refuse to recognise the CitizenCard as a valid proof-of-age; and calls on the Government to bring forward proposals to oblige such establishments to recognise PASS cards as valid identification.
