That this House welcomes the announcement at the 2016 Armed Forces and Veterans Champions Annual Gathering, held in Glasgow on 10 October 2016, that veterans and ex-service charities in Scotland are to be supported by £600,000 over the next three years from the Scottish Veterans Fund to address a wide range of issues, including employability, housing, befriending and wellbeing; is pleased to note that this funding includes a £240,000 contribution from Standard Life for projects to assist veterans' employment; and records its appreciation that the Scottish Veterans Fund, established by the Scottish Government in 2008, has already invested more than £830,000, and supported 125 projects, providing advice, help and support to the thousands of veterans who leave the armed forces and settle in Scotland each year.
