Tenth Anniversary Of The Changing Places Campaign
EDM number 354 in 2016-17, proposed by Kirsten Oswald on 19/07/2016.
Categorised under the topics of Equality and Service industries.
That this House recognises that standard accessible toilets do not meet the needs of all people with a disability; acknowledges that many people with conditions including muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis and spinal injuries need extra facilities to allow them to use toilets safely and comfortably; applauds the tireless and ground-breaking work of the "Changing Places" campaign over the past 10 years and their energy and insight; further recognises that 850 changing places toilets across the UK represents huge progress; and looks forward to the future with a hope that Changing Places toilets will be available in all public areas, and that the Changing Places campaign will continue to go from strength to strength.
