That this House condemns the homophobic attack in Orlando, Florida that is estimated to have killed 50 people and wounded 53 more in what is considered to be the deadliest mass shooting in recent US history; welcomes the vigils that are being held in cities across the world with communities uniting to mourn those who have died and to stand up against homophobia; believes that this act of extreme hate is a stark reminder of the prejudice and discrimination that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people continue to face; and recognises that we all have a responsibility to challenge the culture of homophobia and transphobia that exists in society in all its forms and that until we do prejudice, discrimination and extreme acts of hate will continue to occur.
