That this House congratulates CLAN Cancer Support (CLAN), based in Aberdeen, on the receipt of over £400,000 from the Big Lottery Fund Scotland to fund their life-changing Children and Families Cancer Support Service project for the next three years; notes that this vital service makes a huge difference to those facing difficult times, which can often lead to feelings of anxiety, stress and isolation; further notes that this excellent local charity covers the whole of North East Scotland, Moray, Orkney and Shetland with a presence in Ballater, Banchory, Elgin, Inverurie, Fraserburgh, Lossiemouth, Peterhead, Stonehaven, Turriff, Kirkwall and Lerwick; commends CLAN on its aim for the project to support 300 beneficiaries per year; and wishes CLAN all the best with this project which supports children and family members following cancer diagnosis offering pre and post-bereavement emotional support, and also works with children and their families in the instance that the child themselves receives a cancer diagnosis.
