That this House congratulates the Atlantic Islands Centre on the Isle of Luing on winning the prestigious 2016 My Place Award, organised by the Scottish Civic Trust; commends the design by architect Shauna Cameron as being an excellent example of a modern, sustainable development; notes that since opening in 2015 on the site of an old slate quarry, the Atlantic Islands Centre has become a hub for the community, promoting the island's industrial heritage and culture as well enhancing both the business and social life of the islanders of Luing; and further notes that the Atlantic Islands Centre has aided the regeneration of Luing economy by creating employment and attracting tourists.
