Fifth Anniversary Of Disappearance Of Rebecca Coriam

That this House notes that 22 March 2016 marks five years since Rebecca Coriam, of Chester, disappeared whilst working on the Bahamas-registered Disney Cruise Lines vessel, Disney Wonder, sailing between the USA and Mexico; further notes that a cursory investigation into her disappearance was conducted by the ship's captain and a Disney HR manager, whereas two former police officers on board as security were stood down from the inquiry; notes that an officer from the Royal Bahamas Police Force was flown on Disney's private jet to Mexico to conduct an investigation, which lasted less than 24 hours; notes that former Metropolitan Police Commander Roy Ramm analysed these investigations and found them to be perfunctory and inadequate; notes that Rebecca's credit cards were used after her death and that on-board CCTV seen by the family throws further doubt on the official conclusion of suicide; believes that there is sufficient doubt so that a full criminal inquiry should be reopened into this disappearance; and calls on the Government to make representations to the Bahamas government to reopen this investigation, with the involvement of British detectives, to establish the truth in this disturbing case.
