That this House congratulates Ross County on winning the Scottish League Cup against Hibernian at Hampden; recognises the enormous achievement of a club that only joined the Scottish league in the 1994-95 season having previously being a member of the Highland league; notes the sustained development and rise through the Scottish leagues to becoming a successful participant in the Scottish Premiership and now to seeing the fruits of the development in winning a national trophy for the first time; further notes that not only is the League Cup now in the hands of a highland club Ross County share the accolade of being a national cup holder with Inverness, who currently hold the Scottish Cup; notes that both clubs have put Highland football on the map; notes that Ross County are very much a community club that act as a leading example of how successful local clubs should be run; remarks that the success of Ross County is even more notable when we consider that its hometown Dingwall has a population of 5,500; and further congratulates both the winners and the runners up together with their staff and fans for being part of a family friendly cup final which was a fine advert for all that is good in Scottish football.
