That this House notes that camcording in cinemas is the source of 90 per cent. of first release fake DVDs seized and illicit film files on the internet; further notes that camcording in cinemas is not a criminal offence, making films particularly vulnerable when they are premiered in the UK; is concerned that the UK is now the pre-eminent source of full illegal recordings of films in Europe; recognises that camcording is illegal in many other European countries including France, Italy and Spain; and calls on the Government to support the film industry and make the camcording of films a criminal offence.
