CORONERS' SERVICE
EDM number 966 in 2007-08, proposed by Brian Jenkins on 19/02/2008.
Categorised under the topics of Armed forces, Death and Coroners.
That this House recognises the need to reform the coroners' service; believes that the unacceptable delays in concluding inquests into the deaths of those members of the armed forces killed abroad is just one sign that the current arcane system is no longer fit for purpose; notes that the draft Coroners' Bill has already undergone pre-legislative scrutiny; and urges the Government to bring forward a Bill to reform this vital service without delay.
This motion has been signed by a total of 69 MPs, 2 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
