Fire And Rescue In Cornwall

EDM number 73A1 in 2007-08, proposed by Julia Goldsworthy on 07/11/2007.
Categorised under the topics of Emergency services, Fire services and Local government.

leave out from `House' to end and insert `commends the excellent work of full time and retained fire service personnel in Cornwall; welcomes the thorough inquiry into the Penhallow fire and the decision that no changes will be made to fire cover until the full circumstances are known; notes with concern the historic inadequate funding from successive Conservative and Labour Governments, which has forced the local authority to consider downgrading Falmouth and Camborne stations to day manned only; further notes that Conservative proposals for fire cover in Cornwall make no mention of which local services they would cut to fund their plans; and urges the Government to improve the funding of Cornwall's fire service, bearing in mind the unique geographical and seasonal pressures on fire services in the county.'.

This is a ammendment to 73.
