Bristol Old Vic Theatre

EDM number 630 in 2007-08, proposed by Stephen Williams on 07/01/2008.
Categorised under the topics of Cultural heritage and Performing arts.

That this House is concerned for the future of the Bristol Old Vic Theatre, which was closed suddenly in August 2007; believes that such a fine producing theatre, which has been entertaining Bristol audiences since 1766, should have its future secured so that people from around the West Country and beyond can continue to enjoy its in-house as well as touring productions; and calls upon Arts Council England to commit continued financial support to the Bristol Old Vic, thereby ensuring the preservation of thriving regional theatre.

This motion has been signed by a total of 32 MPs, 2 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
