That this House expresses concern about the growth of oil palm plantations in Borneo; notes that many oil palm plantations have replaced the rainforest, which is the habitat for the orangutan; is further concerned that increasing habitat destruction could lead to the extinction of the orangutan within five years; welcomes the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil; and urges the palm oil industry to take responsible action to protect orangutan habitats and become sustainable.
