That this House welcomes recent legislative elections in Angola, the first since 1992; notes with concern reports from the European Union observers and Human Rights Watch that the elections were not free, fair and transparent; and calls on the Government to act to encourage the Angolan state to ensure that a free, fair and transparent process is followed for the scheduled 2009 presidential election.
