Community Alcohol Partnership Project

EDM number 2137 in 2007-08, proposed by Jonathan Djanogly on 22/07/2008.
Categorised under the topic of Alcoholism.

That this House deplores the prevalence of under-age drinking that takes place in some areas of the UK; welcomes the pilot Community Alcohol Partnership (CAP) initiative in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, which has brought together the drinks industry, police, trading standards, retailers, schools and the media in a joint effort to tackle this problem; further welcomes the new CAP initiative in Cambridge launched in July which builds on the positive outcomes of the St Neots pilot; and urges the Home Office to examine this project carefully and consider running similar partnership programmes in other parts of the country to test its effectiveness.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs.
