The Post Office Network And The Sustainable Communities Bill

EDM number 153 in 2007-08, proposed by Timothy Farron on 07/11/2007.
Categorised under the topic of Postal services.

That this House believes the Government's plan to close large parts of the Post Office network are misguided and will be detrimental to thousands of communities up and down the country; and calls for a moratorium on plans to close up to 2,500 branches to allow time for the Sustainable Communities Bill to come into force which will enable local communities to make decisions based on local factors rather than having the decisions of central government foisted upon them.

This motion has been signed by a total of 59 MPs.
