Supermarket Off Sales
EDM number 1007 in 2007-08, proposed by Richard Younger-Ross on 21/02/2008.
Categorised under the topics of Alcoholism and Service industries.
That this House notes the growth in alcoholic off sales through supermarkets; further notes that young people either shop on their own or with friends or families in supermarkets and that many under-age drinkers acquire alcohol from supermarkets either by purchasing it or stealing it; and believes that such sales or thefts would be reduced if all alcohol were for sale in a licensed designated gated zone.
