Independent Jewish Voices

That this House welcomes the formation of Independent Jewish Voices, a new organisation to represent British Jews in response to a perceived pro-Israeli bias in existing Jewish bodies in the UK; notes that more than 100 high-profile British Jews, including Nobel Prize-winning playwright Harold Pinter, historian Eric Hobsbawm, film director Mike Leigh, human rights lawyer Geoffrey Bindman, fashion designer Nicole Farhi and actors Stephen Fry and Zoe Wanamaker have already signed the group's founding declaration; and urges the Government to support the Independent Jewish Voices in its call to uphold the human rights of Palestinians and reach a just peace in the Middle East.
