FARM-AFRICA'S GOATS SCHEME
EDM number 681 in 2006-07, proposed by Andrew Rosindell on 19/01/2007.
That this House notes that the purchase of a goat for a mere £27 from FARM-Africa can help to save the lives of a family in some of the poorest parts of Africa; realises that by purchasing a goat for such a limited cost, FARM-Africa will loan a goat to a family with no livestock and very little income, thus providing them with immediate nutritional relief through its milk, and longer term assistance through the sale of its offspring; applauds all of those who have helped to support those in need through this initiative which reaches the poorest parts of the world; and encourages both hon. Members and the public to purchase a goat, so that African families have the opportunity to help themselves to survive in the truly harsh environment in which they exist.
