Changing Places Campaign
EDM number 642 in 2006-07, proposed by Philip Davies on 16/01/2007.
That this House recognises that around 40,000 people in the UK with profound and multiple learning disabilities, along with many thousands of other disabled people, cannot use standard accessible toilets, and require public toilets with enough space for disabled people and their carers, along with the right equipment, including a height adjustable changing bench and a hoist; and supports the Changing Places campaign launched by the Changing Places Consortium of Mencap, PAMIS, Nottingham City Council, Dumfries and Galloway Council, the Valuing People Support Team and the Scottish Executive Same As You Team, which is calling for more of these toilets to be installed in public places to enable disabled people and their carers to be active citizens.
This motion has been signed by a total of 115 MPs, 2 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
