Media Open Day At Deepcut Army Barracks

EDM number 924 in 2005-06, proposed by Lembit Opik on 02/11/2005.

That this House regrets the decision by the Ministry of Defence to hold a media facility at the Deepcut Army Barracks on Wednesday 26th October; regards such a decision as extremely insensitive given that parents of the four young recruits who died at Deepcut betwen 1995 and 2002 still do not know the circumstances in which their child died; is concerned that the event gives the impression that the Army is seeking to distract the public from the on-going unanswered questions surrounding these deaths; and calls on the Secretary of State for Defence to account for the decision to hold this event at Deepcut Barracks at this time.

This motion has been signed by a total of 30 MPs.
