The Carbon Trust
EDM number 2756 in 2005-06, proposed by Alan Meale on 16/10/2006.
That this House is aware of the fine work undertaken by the Carbon Trust to help organisations and businesses cut their carbon emissions and support the development of low carbon technology; is aware of its new and exciting campaign to encourage students and teachers to help combat climate change by cutting the energy they use at school, which could save up to £20 million in energy costs annually, whilst also cutting 200,000 tonnes of harmful carbon dioxide emissions over the same period; recognises that hon. Members have their part to play in this excellent exercise by encouraging schools and colleges in their constituencies to participate in this worthwhile venture; and calls upon the Government also to support by whatever means this attempt to reduce harmful pollution whilst at the same time increasing awareness of the need for all citizens to play their part to fight against the main causes of global warming.
This motion has been signed by a total of 74 MPs.
