Retinal Screening For Diabetics

EDM number 259 in 2005-06, proposed by Adrian Sanders on 06/06/2005.

That this House welcomes Diabetes UK's current campaign, Action Today, Health Tomorrow, to raise awareness of the importance of annual retinal screening for all people with diabetes; notes that retinopathy is the leading cause of blindness in the working-age population; expresses concerns about a lack of knowledge among people with diabetes about the benefits of regular screening; and calls on the Government to ensure progress towards meeting the National Service Framework for Diabetes targets for preventing blindness in people with diabetes.

This motion has been signed by a total of 130 MPs.
