Cancer Drug Tarceva

EDM number 1665 in 2005-06, proposed by Geraldine Smith on 15/02/2006.

That this House expresses concern that Morecambe Bay Primary Care Trust will not prescribe the cancer drug Tarceva to lung cancer patient Mr Paul Bould; notes that Tarceva has been licensed for use in the UK, that currently around 50 NHS hospitals have prescribed Tarceva and that over 100 patients have been treated with Tarceva on the NHS; further notes that Tarceva can slow the progression of lung cancer, increase life expectancy and provide a better quality of life for people suffering from this disease; and calls on Morecambe Bay Primary Care Trust to reconsider its decision.

This motion has been signed by a total of 62 MPs.
