That this House congratulates the promoters of Y Byd, the proposed Welsh language daily newspaper on reaching their target of Â£300,000 of private investment from individuals within Wales; commends their intention of seeking a similar sum from private sector companies and institutions and then support from public sector sources; notes that the lack of daily news in printed form in Welsh is an anomaly when compared with other regional or minority languages in Europe; and calls on the Government and the devolved administration to take all possible steps to facilitate the establishment of a daily newspaper in Welsh.
