RAYNAUD'S AWARENESS MONTH
EDM number 1554 in 2005-06, proposed by Edward Davey on 01/02/2006.
That this House welcomes the fact that February is the 24th Raynaud's Awareness Month; notes that Raynaud's causes an often debilitating lack of blood to the extremities, mainly the fingers and toes, on exposure to the cold or slight change in temperature causing numbness and often considerable pain; recognises that this condition cannot be cured but only managed through prescribed medication and keeping warm; understands that it affects over 10 million people in the UK and that women are nine times more likely to be affected than men; and congratulates the Raynaud's and Scleroderma Association on nearly a quarter century of relentless work to help those suffering from Raynaud's and raise the public awareness of this devastating condition.
This motion has been signed by a total of 56 MPs.
