Cross Border Concessionary Travel Scheme In Yorkshire And The Humber

EDM number 1438 in 2005-06, proposed by Phil Willis on 20/01/2006.

That this House welcomes the 2005 Budget commitment to provide funding from April 2006 to every local authority enabling free off-peak local area bus travel for the disabled and those aged over 60 years; notes that concessionary travel is invaluable to residents of Harrogate and Knaresborough; further notes that vital facilities such as acute hospitals are often based in different local authority areas; and calls upon the Government to bring about measures to allow for cross-border travel to adjacent authorities across the Yorkshire and Humber Region to ensure that elderly and disabled people can derive maximum benefit from the new scheme.

This motion has been signed by a total of 19 MPs.
