UNICEF REPORT ON THE STATE OF THE WORLD'S CHILDREN 2006
EDM number 1263 in 2005-06, proposed by John Barrett on 13/12/2005.
That this House commends UNICEF on the publication of its new report, The State of the World's Children 2006: Excluded and Invisible; deplores the fact that hundreds of millions of children throughout the world continue to suffer from severe exploitation and discrimination while being excluded from the fundamental services and protections they require; notes that meeting the Millennium Development Goals depends on better reaching vulnerable children throughout the developing world; believes that the international community must do more to reach out to those children who are trafficked, forced into domestic servitude, or who live on the streets and in detention; and further calls on world governments to renew attempts to reach those children who have become excluded and invisible to the international community.
