Brain Injury Awareness Week, 14th - 20th March 2005
EDM number 816 in 2004-05, proposed by Andrew Lansley on 02/03/2005.
That this House congratulates Headway, the brain injury association, for organising Brain Injury Awareness Week, which is taking place between 14th and 20th March; notes that the theme for this year's event is ageing carers, since many carers are the parents of a brain injury sufferer; further notes that people who sustain such an injury are frequently between the ages of 15 to 29 and will still have a normal life expectancy; recognises, in the light of this, that the provision of health care for a brain injury sufferer is a deep concern, particularly for ageing parents; and further congratulates the local branches of Headway, numbering more than 100, who will be organising events across the country such as receptions with their local honourable Members to raise funds and generate awareness of brain injuries.
