Judgement In Retrial Of Imprisoned Kurdish Mps In Turkey

That this House notes that the judgement in the retrial of Leyla Zana and three other Kurdish members of the Turkish Parliament will be delivered shortly; deplores the continued imprisonment of these MPs; regrets the manifest irregularities reported on by observers to the retrial; recalls that the European Court of Human Rights ruled in 2001 that the MPs had been denied the right to a fair trial; and has every expectation that the impending ruling will clear the MPs or result in their immediate release.
