Abolition Of The Over Thirty Months Scheme
EDM number 1846 in 2003-04, proposed by Roger Williams on 28/10/2004.
That this House recognises the net savings of ú300 million that the ending of the Over Thirty Months Scheme would bring and acknowledges the potential increase in returns to British farms that would also occur; notes the market dangers of a rapid rise in supply and the need for a measured reintroduction of over thirty month cattle into the food chain; and urges the Government to continue the controls on specified risk material and end the Over Thirty Months Scheme.
