That this House welcomes the report, Living on a Knife Edge, published by Asthma UK, that highlights the seriousness of asthma; regrets that the UK has the highest level of severe asthma in the world and that, on average, one person dies every seven hours and that confidential enquiries into deaths caused by asthma show that 90 per cent. of these deaths are preventable; notes that for half a million people with asthma there are still no medicines that will adequately control their condition; commends Asthma UK for highlighting the seriousness of asthma in its report published on World Asthma Day on 4th May; congratulates their efforts in representing the views of people with asthma and campaigning for a better deal for people with asthma; and urges Her Majesty's Government to give asthma the priority the 5.1 million people in the UK with asthma deserve.
