Council Tax And Pensions In Devon
EDM number 734 in 2002-03, proposed by Richard Younger-Ross on 12/02/2003.
That this House notes that the expected council tax rise in Devon will exceed ú2.30 per week for a band D property, that the expected pension rise for a single person is only ú1.95 per week, and that this represents a net loss for pensioners; and calls upon the Government to ensure that no pensioner is worse off this year and to abolish the council tax and replace it with a fairer system of local taxation.
This motion has been signed by a total of 11 MPs.
