Access To Iraqi Palaces
EDM number 1541 in 2002-03, proposed by Paul Flynn on 07/07/2003.
That this House regrets the failure of the Foreign Affairs Committee to mention an obvious major error in the September dossier on Iraq which states on page 34 that 'Iraq consistently refused to allow UNSCOM inspectors access to any of the eight Presidential sites,'; notes the UNSCOM website states that all eight sites had been inspected between 25th March and 4th April 1998 and that 'cooperation from Iraqi counterparts was satisfactory'; recalls that a Foreign Office Minister confirmed these facts on 4th February; and believes that the full page illustration in the September dossier of the comparative sizes of an Iraqi Palace and Buckingham Palace should have been considered as a possible attempt to improve the dossier for presentational reasons.
