Territorial Continuity In The West Bank

EDM number 124 in 2002-03, proposed by Ann Cryer on 19/11/2002.

That this House condemns the killing of Israeli soldiers and security persons after Friday prayers near the Tomb of the Patriots in the West Bank town of Hebron by Islamic Jihad; also condemns however, the Israeli army of occupation for destroying the homes of the families of suspects of the ambush in a typical rush to justice; and condemns Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's threat to raze to the ground the homes of hundreds of innocent Palestinian families in order to facilitate yet another example of 'territorial continuity' by the occupying power in the form of a road link between the Jewish enclave of 450 persons within Hebron and the nearby illegal Jewish settlement of Kiryat Arba, thus at a stroke moving further away from the Oslo Agreement with a secure Palestinian State, whilst promoting an extremely effective membership campaign for Islamic Jihad.
