Local Produce And The Future Of The Farming Community

EDM number 545 in 2001-02, proposed by Colin Breed on 11/12/2001.

That this House supports the Western Mornings News campaign to promote local produce; recognises the need to encourage and support the purchase of and trade in produce in the South West and generally throughout the United Kingdom; notes the social, economic, health and environmental benefits; and recognises that by doing so the campaign is supporting the farming community, ensuring a high quality of produce to the consumer and limiting the need to transport great distances.

This motion has been signed by a total of 27 MPs.
