Nuclear Accident At Chapelcross Nuclear Power Station;amdt. Line 1:
EDM number 177A1 in 2001-02, proposed by Russell Brown on 19/07/2001.
leave out from 'House' to end and add 'welcomes the news that all 24 fuel rods involved in the recent incident at Chapelcross Nuclear Power Station were accounted for and exact locations known on the evening of Wednesday 17th July, which therefore enabled the incident to be stood down; welcomes the company's openness with regard to the issuing of regular press releases; further welcomes the news of a full inquiry by the Nuclear Installation Inspectorate into an incident that was Category 1 on the International Nuclear Event Scale and thereby classed as an anomaly; and very much regrets the attempts of the Scottish National Party to portray a much more sensational situation than that which actually existed, and which is only to be expected since no Member of the Scottish National Party, honourable Member or Member of the Scottish Parliament has had the decency, as yet, to visit the site.'.
This is a ammendment to 177.
