Regional Government
EDM number 106 in 2001-02, proposed by Andrew George on 10/07/2001.
That this House commends the Government for devolving power to places people identify with and looks forward to the early publication of its promised White Paper on regional government; further congratulates those regions in Cornwall, the North East, the North West and the South West which have set up constitutional conventions and the regions of Yorkshire and the West Midlands for setting up campaigns; and calls on the Government to complete its unfinished business by providing for the setting up of regional assemblies which reflect the places people identify with, have a clear popular mandate and are fully democratic.
This motion has been signed by a total of 88 MPs.
