leave out from 'house' to end and add 'recognises the legitimacy and sovereignty of only one government in Cyprus, that is the Government of the Republic of Cyprus led by President Clerides; welcomes paragraph 88 and conclusion 21 of the 3rd report of the Foreign Affairs Committee on EU enlargement that Her Majesty's Government should make it clear that Turkey does not have a veto over the accession of Cyprus, and that Cyprus, even in its present divided state, may therefore be admitted to the EU on the same basis as all other applicants: calls upon the Turkish Cypriot community in the occupied north of the island to accept the invitation extended to them by the Government of Cyprus to participate positively in the negotiations for membership of the European Union; and renews its appeal to Turkey, in the light of the decision of the Government of Cyprus not to deploy the S300 missiles on the island, to respond positively by entering into a process of negotiation for the scaling down of armaments on the island, and to agree to cooperate on a permanent solution to the Cyprus problem in accordance with UN Security Council Resolutions including 1217 and 1218.'.

This is a ammendment to 426.
