leave out from 'supports' to end and add 'the attempts by the French government to explain the realities of economic life to French public sector workers and withdraw some of their special privileges; is concerned that the United Kingdom pays some ú3 billion a year into the European Union and France is a net recipient of some ú3 billion a year; notes that corporate governance in French business has been widely criticised as inadequate; and believes that publicy owned French companies such as Air France, Electricite de France Telecom should have their state support withdrawn and be forced to compete with British companies on a fair basis.'.
